As an approved supplier to Hampshire County Council and having worked with a number of schools, we've been able to tailor a range of courses for schools, pre schools and childcare providers which meet OFSTED and HSE recommendations.
Courses we offer include:
"Global Medical Training are always great to work with. They have gone out of their way to put on courses at times that work best for us e.g. after school courses for the children and summer holiday courses for our Admin team. Participants have commented on how informative and interesting their courses are and how they have come away feeling like they have learnt so much. We look forward to working with them again in September when their training will form part of our INSET day”
Sadly, instances of knife use within and around schools are on the rise. Our team are experts in providing bleed control training so that in the event that the worst happens, you can be as prepared as possible to provide lifesaving treatment. Our instructors are using this equipment on a weekly basis in their roles within the NHS.
We are able to supply the equipment you need, which is the same specification as used by your local NHS service to ensure interoperability and the highest levels of care.
As with all of our courses, we can deliver this training to groups of staff and indeed students. In areas where the prevalence is higher, we often provide training to groups of young people so that they are prepared and are able to act in the event of a life threatening knife injury.
Our bleed control training is a 3 hour course and is certificated for 2 years.
This course is for people working with and caring for babies and young children.
It is designed to supplement paediatric first aid provision but will not meet the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Registration requirements on its own.

Any assistants or childminders who might be in sole charge of the children for any period of time, must hold a current full paediatric first aid certificate.
This course is ideal for people who assist in a childcare setting alongside colleagues who hold the full 2 day certificate.

Our after school first aid club launched in 2019 and was so successful we have had to run multiple sessions to keep up with demand.
Aimed at KS2 children and upwards, this 1.5 hour session teaches basic lifesaving skills.
We run the session in schools, directly after school finishing time. The children are given a fruit or vegetable snack pack and a drink before being launched into the training.
The session covers basic lifesaving skills including:
Yes! Everyone who attends gets a certificate. We also issue an activity sheet and each course has the chance for one child to win a £10 Smyths toy voucher, as long as they correctly complete the sheet and return it to the school office.
All staff and pupils need to know what to do in a lockdown situation. Our training will equip your staff and pupils with the knowledge they need to be prepared in the event of a threat to the school, the likelihood of which is very low.
Global Medical Training have instructors who are currently working within teams who would be among the first on scene in the event of a deliberate attack and so are ideally placed to pass on their knowledge.
We will work with you to assess what you have in place and make any further recommendations in relation your plans, including a review of any vulnerable areas or parts of the school which might be easily accessed.
We use systems of training by Citizenaid, "Moggys coming" and "Lion on the loose" as well as our own material for older pupils.
Designed specifically for years R-4 children, Moggy’s Coming provides sensitive and appropriate preparation for young children to be able to understand and deal with the unlikely but not impossible chance of being caught up in a deliberate attack.
For years 5-6 children we use both the the "Lion on the loose" material and the "Chemical plant explosion" story, both of which illustrate the "run, hide, tell" message in a non threatening way, along with simple instructions on how to help anyone injured.
We are able to discuss with staff the processes around a deliberate attack, how to react when the police arrive and how to coordinate the response afterwards, including casualty care.
Course Duration: between 3 hours and 6 hours depending on the requirements of the customer
Citizenaid is a registered charity and Global Medical Training make a donation for each course we run.
